General Introduction
Kalitta Air L.L.C. is a U.S. all-cargo carrier operating a fleet of 14 B747 freighter aircraft. Since inaugurating scheduled 747 freighter services from Hong Kong to the US in 2002, Kalitta Air has expanded and upgraded its transpacific service and has launched scheduled services to Europe and the Middle East from the US gateways Chicago (ORD), New York (JFK) and Newark (EWR).
All of these scheduled flights are operated with Boeing 747-400 and 747-200 freighters owned by the airline and the services are tailored to meet the growing needs of airfreight forwarders for safe, reliable and cost effective airport-to-airport scheduled freighter capacity.
Reliability and fuel efficiency are being further improved by Kalitta Air’s addition of B747-400F aircraft to its operating fleet. Two such aircraft were added in 2008 and a third was delivered to Kalitta Air in 2009. It is actively seeking to acquire more. IAS has represented Kalitta Air since 2003.
